Inspired by the family legacy, the Montreal restaurant's new original concept pays homage to the classic New York pizzerias of the 1970s and 1980s, balancing retro and contemporary elements to create a chic and conversational space with a strong identity.
A concept of nostalgia within an iconic, contemporary space that is inspired by family history, with homages to the flagship Café Gentile, first opened in 1959, as well as a family arcade where the current owner spent much of his youth.
A contemporary interpretation of references to the past to create a dynamic space that is both rooted in time and embraces the future, reflecting the ambitions and passions of a new generation of Montreal family restaurateurs.
The original space offered some naturally vintage qualities that have been embraced, including a metal slatted ceiling that was originally designed for signage.
To break up the natural linearity of the existing space, a continuous pattern of diagonal tiles was developed to cover the floors, walls and bar. The effect of the strong, deliberate gesture is one of the most striking aspects of the final design.
A juxtaposition of old and new materials characterises the restaurant's light and playful furnishings and finishes, including a mix of marble and vinyl table tops, pre-finished wood panelled walls layered with backlit mirrors, amber glass partitions and old-fashioned vertical blinds. Vintage items, including lamps, chairs, stools and even an old Pac Man machine, were acquired through personal collections and advertisements, infusing the space with a strong visual impact of familiarity, originality and warmth.

Sushiko, with more than 55 restaurants open since 2009, aims every day to consolidate its position as a leader in the sector of oriental ethnic catering and to confirm itself as the first and largest Italian chain of “all-you-can-eat” Japanese restaurants.
But the project is even more ambitious: Sushiko wants to broaden its horizons outside Italy by bringing its quality “all-you-can-eat” sushi throughout Europe, starting with Spain.
Along with economic growth, its primary objective is to ensure the development and success of its partners and the premises in which it operates, demonstrating its professionalism, integrity and passion.
Sushiko entered the Spanish market with the recent opening of the first restaurant in Barcelona at the SOM Multiespai shopping centre, and the plan is to open five more by the end of 2021, with the aim of covering the whole of Spain in the next five years, equalling the number of restaurants in Italy.
Sushiko arrived in Barcelona with the well-established formula: a large, strategically located restaurant, an “all-you-can-eat” menu offering quality sushi, and great customer focus, to offer a unique taste experience every time.
The innovative design speaks to a young audience, that see sushi as an international dish to be enjoyed in a colourful and informal setting. Here, traditional Japanese lanterns mingle with the neon signs of Tokyo, and ancient stories of samurai and geishas combine with the metropolitan language of street art and manga. Service is at the table, with a la carte and Infinity formula menu options.

Gusto is a cake cafè that encompasses two parallel worlds: imagination and reality.
An environment that makes you experience magical moments, escaping from reality.
Two timelessly symmetrical, yet classy, monochrome areas in pastel colours, flowery walls with the words "Wanderlust" and "Dream Big".
Although these words may sound clichéd, one must understand the political circumstances in which Kosovo finds itself: no possibility to travel, no way to escape from tradition or poverty.
This is to remind others that finding sweet escapes and creating positive environments is a state of mind and cannot be restricted.

Colourful Mexican culture characterises the restaurant, which is designed to feel like an open-air piazza.
The space is attractively divided by individual height large timber and reo mesh arches that play with the scale of the 200 square metre floor plan.
Banquette seating runs the length of the dining area, with different seating configurations to suit small and large parties.
Block shades of pink, blue and yellow have been used in each zone between the arches, referencing the vibrant, coloured facades commonly found in Mexican architecture.
Fun touches - like a projector screening old Mexican movies - mirror the playful nature of Mexican dining.

This cheerful restaurant, located in a representative building formerly referred to as the Stadnicki Palace, comes with raspberries painted on the walls and a pleasing glow that illuminates dark evenings.
There are floral touches aplenty here, lending an enchanted fairy tale atmosphere, while the menu mixes up the best of Polish and Italian cooking.
With long standing as one of the best values and top restaurants in town, book ahead if you fancy taking in the Grodzka views afforded by the raised window-side seating, or enjoy their outdoor patio and terrace.

Bar Shuka is a restaurant and sake bar and the latest concept by the Ardinast brothers, located in the 25hours Hotel The Trip in Frankfurt. “Shuk” means “marketplace” an the restaurant pays homage to the oriental market, serving classic Middle Eastern flavours and dishes, which meet regional Frankfurt ingredients, with touches of Yiddish cooking.
The interior design concept reflects the harmonious clash between old and modern cultures. Up to 90 people can be seated in the restaurant, while the Patio Rosso (courtyard) accommodates 60. High-contrast materials say it all here: Taking centre stage is the large, open show kitchen finished in Spanish ornamental bricks, and counter tops made from Mármore Verde Guatemala connected to a chef’s table made from 400-year-old oak, at which bar stools by Atelier Haussmann Berlin sit. The walls are done in raw brick with plastered patina, the ceiling in Reseda green (the colour of classic ‘60s machinery), and the floor in blue-toned hexagonal cement tiles from India. Throughout the room, concrete pillars reveal fragments of the building’s structure. The lampshades are made out of baskets from Tunisia and mouth-blown glass pieces from the Czech Republic. Two large neon artworks on the wall spell out “Friends” in Hebrew and in Arabic.

Manero is a bar butique, the place where you can enjoy a gastronomy based on traditional Spanish tapas with a gourmet twist. Everything is paired with a great selection of wines by the glass and cocktails.
Carlos Bosch has brought from Alicante (where the businessman has made a name for himself with the restaurant El Portal, Manero Alicante and El Singular) a concept where the product is the axis of everything.
The entrance, with a big bar In which a wide variety of bottles of vermouths, wines and beers are displayed, it invites you to have a snack at the high tables around it. Following the bar, we enter the second space, where the cold dishes are finished in view of the diners; cold cuts and cheeses fill the space, just as appetizing as the first. In the background, as in his Alicante ‘brother’, an area to eat sitting down that at night is transformed in a clandestine where you can enjoy the best cocktails and live music.
Manero is a bar with many bars inside.
